MENINJAU KORELASI TEODISI DARI GOTTFRIED WILHELM LEIBNIZ DAN ETIKA HINDU PEMAKNAAN PERAN TUHAN DALAM KEJAHATAN

Abstract

God's role in suffering and evil is questioned because of the nature of God who is Almighty, All-Good, and All-Perfect. The concept of Hindu theodicy and ethics explains that God is not entirely the cause of evil, God provides space for freedom for humans to act. God acts as the keeper of dharma or goodness. This research uses qualitative methods with an interpretive analysis approach, and uses various sources according to the field of study, research journals and books as sources of author literacy, as well as thoughts related to the topic to be discussed. The purpose of this research is to discuss the correlation between Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz's Theodicy and Hindu Ethics in Understanding God's Role in Evil. Results and discussion of Leibniz's concept of theodicy and Hindu ethics which come from different traditions and beliefs, but there are similarities in explaining suffering and evil. Both of these concepts believe that evil and suffering are not entirely caused by God, but are the result of the individual. Hindu ethics has a solid foundation for regulating human behavior, in accordance with the principles of dharma. The basic framework of Hindu ethics that regulates human morals includes: Tri Kaya Parisudha, Panca Yama Bratha, Dasa Dharma, And Three hit karana. This teaching regulates good and correct human behavior in order to achieve the highest human goals, namely moksha.
